Have you ever needed a bike for a few hours or a couple of days, but didn't want to sign up for complicated subscriptions? At Ciclofficina Sociale we have the solution: it's called Bike Surfing.
What is Bike Surfing?
Bike Surfing is our evolved vision of bike sharing. The main difference? It's totally free.
These aren't identical industrial bikes, but a real fleet of "unique pieces." Each bicycle destined for the service has been assembled in our workshop using second-hand components, carefully salvaged from old frames destined for disposal. It's our way of giving materials a second life and providing mobility to everyone.
How does it work?
Participating is very simple, just as our motto says: Easy! Bike Surfing!
- Come visit us: Stop by Ciclofficina Sociale during opening hours.
- Choose your bike: Look at the available fleet and choose the one that suits you best.
- Leave a deposit: We only ask for a small precautionary deposit.
- Ride: The bike is yours for the agreed-upon time.
- Return: When you return the bike, we'll give you back the full deposit.
Why do we do it?
We want sustainable mobility to be a right for everyone, not a luxury. Giving dignity back to an old bike and making it available to the community is at the heart of our social mission. Whether you're a citizen, a tourist, or just curious, Bike Surfing is the most fun and eco-friendly way to get around the city.
